As many of you know, every year, iRacing puts on special events for people all around the world to come together and race. And the 24 hours of Spa was the event that the Envy SimSports Racing Team wanted to tackle and see what they could do. And, it’s a good thing they did, because had they not entered, they wouldn’t have clinched a remarkable victory for the team. Let’s dive into their journey, the challenges they faced, and the teamwork that propelled them to the podium at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
The Stage: iRacing’s 24 Hours of Spa
The iRacing 24 Hours of Spa is a grueling virtual endurance race that mirrors the real-world event at Belgium’s legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Known for its challenging 7-kilometer layout, featuring iconic sections like Eau Rouge, Raidillon, and Blanchimont, Spa tests drivers with its fast corners, elevation changes, and unpredictable conditions. The split that Envy SimSports was in saw 56 teams all competing in the hopes of winning the 24 Hours of Spa, with Envy SimSports fielding a strong lineup to tackle the twice-around-the-clock challenge.

From the green flag, Envy SimSports Racing Team showed their pace, starting the race in 19th overall and doing everything they could to stay out of trouble in the opening laps. Before the darkness fell on the track, the team had moved into 5th. The race wasn’t without its challenges—Spa’s tight corners and high-speed sections demand precision, and any mistake can lead to costly repairs or penalties. However, before the darkness fell over the track, the toughest part of the entire event, the team managed to make their way into 5th place. As long as the team could keep the car on track through the night, there was a good chance they could keep fighting for the podium. As the hours ticked by, Envy’s drivers showcased remarkable consistency, avoiding major incidents despite the 100-incident limit enforced by iRacing. Their pit strategy, honed through experience in endurance events, allowed them to optimize fuel and tire management, keeping them in contention for the top spots. By the final hours, Envy SimSports was locked in a thrilling battle for the podium, trading positions with 2nd and sometimes 3rd.
The Podium: A Hard-Fought 2nd Place

Crossing the finish line, Envy SimSports claimed a well-deserved 2nd place, a testament to their skill and preparation. While Team Redline’s dominant performance stole the headlines, Envy’s podium finish was a standout achievement, earning them not only bragging rights but also the respect of the sim racing community. Their ability to stay competitive in a 56-strong grid of GT3 cars, navigating Spa’s challenges for 24 hours, highlighted their potential as a top-tier team.
